A year marked by change 

Discover the developments and new features that 2024 has in store for you. Magazine, new website pages, new premises: the office has drawn up a list for you so you don't miss any of the changes looming on the horizon.

Shell & Half-timbering: 2024 edition 

Online and available in our tourist offices since the end of January, the destination magazine continues to give pride of place to our region and its socio-professionals.  

For the second edition, the theme Nature sea withdraws to make way for Nature painting ; a colorful ode which, like the impressionists, will take readers on a journey through pastel-tinted panoramas. Section It is so beautiful passes the baton to Art and matter.

The map of the territory is renewed and takes its place in the flap of the magazine cover.

It's a 96-page magazine of pure Normandy.  

Where to eat, where to sleep, what to do: something new on the site  

New pages have appeared in the sections Where to eat, Where to sleep et What to do of the website: these are the thematic research and conventional research. 

These sections were created to: 

• Target new questions on search engines like Google 
• Expand research suggestions for users 
• Strengthen internal links (mesh) of website pages 

What will happen to the accommodation and catering pages by municipality? 

These pages do not disappear from the website. They will simply be present in different places. For example, they have been integrated into the pages of the region's tourist communities to benefit from their visibility and digital notoriety. For what ? Because the pages of tourist towns are among the main gateways through which visitors arrive. 

Will it be possible to find them easily? 

Even if they disappear from the visible tree structure of the website, users will still be able to easily find these pages via:

• the website search bar
• the internal network

For example, a visitor looking for restaurants in Houlgate or Cabourg will type on a search engine: “restaurants Houlgate”, “restaurants Cabourg”, and will arrive directly on our site via these pages.  

We stop X (former twitter) 

In July 2023, the social network Twitter, bought by Elon Musk, changed its name, logo and became X. However, the change announced by the new owner of the former blue bird is only the prelude to the complete transition of the brand.  

There are absolutely no limits to this transformation. X will be the platform that can provide… well absolutely everything

Following its profound transformations, X has become a space where debates are heated and hate speech is increasingly common with the lifting of all types of censorship. The continual modification of the algorithm makes it difficult to track posts and dealing with issues related to misinformation can become problematic to manage.

Finally, the number of messages viewed per day has become limited for users who do not pay the monthly subscription. A new factor that reduces the visibility of our content on this platform. 

Many companies have already made the decision to cease all communication on X for months so as not to associate the controversies of the platform and its manager with their image.

Continuing to publish on this platform means taking the risk that your messages will end up mixed with inappropriate content.

For all of these reasons, we have decided to no longer communicate on this platform since January 1, 2024.
