When the seaside resort was created in 1853, Henri Durand Morimbau, a Parisian businessman, entrusted the urban plan of the future Cabourg to a local architect, Paul Leroux, who chose a radio-concentric plan reminiscent of that of Greek theaters. Romans.

Such a plan allows the avenues to converge towards a central square, the theater stage: the Casino Gardens.

Now called the fan, this district is the historic Belle Époque center of the city, in which the avenues are full of more than 150 villas from the 2nd half of the XNUMXth century.
