Priority objective of D-Day according to the Allied high command, the Battery of Merville was neutralized by the 9th Battalion of British Paratroopers.
On a preserved site of several hectares, by taking an educational trail, you can visit 6 bunkers converted into a museum. A mythical plane, the Douglas C-47 which took part in the landing is exhibited on the site and now has a beautiful hangar for its preservation.
In the main bunker, every 20 minutes, a sound and light show will immerse you in what was the hell of taking the Battery.
From now on, an audioguide is available to accompany you during your visit!
